Job summary

Transitions Healthcare Washington is seeking a Dietary Manager to lead the Dietary Services team in a skilled nursing environment. You will oversee daily kitchen operations, supervise staff, and ensure meals meet nutrition, diet orders, and resident preferences while complying with safety standards.

The role emphasizes leadership, regulatory compliance, and collaboration with nursing and leadership to promote a positive dining experience for residents.

Qualifications

• CDM credential preferred; certification obtainable after hire.
• Healthcare, skilled nursing, or senior living food-service experience preferred.
• Experience supervising dietary staff is a plus.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and therapeutic diets is desired.
• ServSafe certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the Dietary Services department, including meals, service, sanitation, and staffing.
• Supervise, train, schedule, and direct dietary staff on a day-to-day basis.
• Ensure meals and therapeutic diets are prepared per menus, diet orders, and resident preferences.
• Coordinate with nursing and inter-disciplinary team on resident dietary needs and changes.
• Monitor food quality, portioning, temperatures, and service schedules.
• Maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, and applicable regulations.
• Oversee ordering, inventory, storage, labeling, and waste minimization.
• Ensure kitchen equipment and areas meet sanitation and safety standards.
• Maintain dietary records and regulatory documentation.
