Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Buford, Georgia is seeking a Senior Level Diesel Technician to service heavy-duty vehicles. The role includes a Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 12:00 pm – 8:30 pm schedule and a Saturday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm shift, with weekly pay and comprehensive benefits.

Requirements include a minimum of 2 years in heavy-duty/mechanical repairs and the ability to obtain CDL within 6 months. Ryder offers a CDL-ready path, medical/dental/vision after 30 days, PTO, 401(k) matching, boot

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Vocational or Technical Certification Post Secondary degree or Technical Certifications, preferred.
Basic tools, required.
Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including oil changes, brake and tire work.
Basic diagnostics and repairs, including AC and electrical systems, required.

Responsibilities

Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties including standard vehicle maintenance.
Performs preventive maintenance.
Diagnoses complex mechanical and electronic problems utilizing diagnostic computer when applicable.
Completes complex and detailed mechanical inspections & repairs with minimal supervision.
Replaces defective components as instructed.
Works unsupervised on most tasks.
Interacts with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaint.
