Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Maintenance Lead Technician to direct a team of technicians in repairs and preventive maintenance of heavy trucks and refuse equipment. You will oversee chassis, bodywork, hydraulic and electrical systems, diagnose complex issues, and coach junior staff to ensure compliance with safety standards.

The role emphasizes safe, timely repairs, on-site and road maintenance, and mentoring staff to maximize productivity while meeting regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience working on heavy-duty trucks with OSHA compliance is a plus.
• At least 1 year of supervisory or lead technician experience is a plus.
• ASE Heavy Truck Certifications (T1-T8) is a plus.
• Class B or higher Commercial Driver's License is a plus.
• Valid Driver's License is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction to technicians to ensure safe, efficient repairs.
• Plan and schedule repair work to minimize lost productivity.
• Inspect repairs done by a third party vendor for safety and compliance.
• Diagnose complex repair issues.
• Perform repairs on chassis, refuse bodies, engines, brakes, hydraulics, HVAC systems.
• Perform line maintenance welding and fabrication.
• Mentor technicians in diagnostic techniques.
• Handle Maintenance Supervisor responsibilities as needed.
