Job summary

The City of Charlotte is seeking a Senior Diesel Technician to join the Fleet Management Division. You will diagnose and repair heavy trucks, sanitation, and construction equipment, leading efforts on complex diesel engines, electrical, and hydraulic systems.

Qualifications

• Three years of relevant work experience; or a High School diploma/GED with two years.
• Must pass background checks and pre-employment drug screening.
• Must obtain NC Inspection License and AC Recover and Recycling License within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair heavy truck fleet, construction equipment, sanitation equipment.
• Repair complex diesel engines, electrical systems, brake and hydraulic systems.
• Document work in fleet maintenance software and communicate repairs to fleet operations.
• Follow safety procedures and work weekends/holidays as needed.
• Must lift up to 75 lbs and travel for training when required.
