Job summary

FleetPride in Carlisle, PA is seeking a Diesel Technician III to master preventative maintenance on heavy-duty truck systems and to train other technicians. The role involves performing major repairs and diagnostics, with emphasis on brakes, suspensions, engines, and fuel systems.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years of experience with class 7 & 8 trucks, strong diagnostic and welding skills, and the ability to train staff.

Qualifications

Diesel Technology Associates degree is required.
7+ years of experience with class 7 & 8 trucks is expected.
Experience repairing 53’ trailers is preferred.

Responsibilities

Examine vehicles to determine extent of damage or malfunction.
Train new service shop employees on company procedures regarding vehicle repairs.
Inspect orders for completion and quality before presentation to customers.
Perform inspections and preventative maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
Perform routine maintenance services such as oil changes and filter replacements.
Repair, relining, replacing, and adjusting brakes (air, hydraulic, electric).
Test drive vehicles and components using proper equipment.
Troubleshoot suspension systems and electrical systems.
