Job summary

Republic Services, West Columbia, SC, seeks a Maintenance Technician A to repair and maintain diesel and non-diesel trucks, chassis components, refuse bodies, air brakes, engines, HVAC, suspension and drive systems on a modern fleet to keep drivers on the road.

Under supervision, you will diagnose multi-system issues, complete required training, and pursue growth within a safety‑driven, community‑mocused environment.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of experience as a technician working on heavy-duty trucks.
• Ability to diagnose multi-system issues and demonstrate technical expertise.
• LNG and/or CNG experience is a plus but not required.
• Class B or higher Commercial Driver’s License is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Chassis component repair and maintenance.
• Refuse bodies, including control, hydraulic and electrical systems; Air and hydraulic braking systems.
• Engine repair and diagnostics.
• Diesel fuel systems and fuel systems diagnostics.
• Suspension, drivetrain and steering systems.
• HVAC systems diagnostics and repair.
• Aftertreatment systems, REGEN and diagnostics.
• Diagnose electrical concerns with scan tools.
• Line maintenance, welding and fabrication.
• Identify the source of the malfunctions using a variety of electronic tools.
• Completes applicable Company training programs.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.
