Job summary

Blue Bear Waste Services is seeking an experienced Senior Diesel Technician/Mechanic in Phoenix, AZ to maintain and repair our fleet of trucks and equipment. You will diagnose issues, perform complex repairs, and ensure preventative maintenance is completed on schedule.

The role requires 5+ years of diesel experience, strong diagnostic skills, and the ability to work independently in a shop environment. CDL is preferred but not required, and DOT compliance knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• Requires a minimum of 5 years of diesel mechanic experience; waste industry experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred.
• Strong diagnostic skills across mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Must provide necessary tools to perform position; CDL preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled mechanical work on heavy-duty truck equipment with minimal supervision.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems to identify root causes and repairs.
• Track and complete scheduled preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records in Fleetio and other systems.
• Coordinate with other shop staff to ensure efficient workflow and safety.
• Provide guidance and training to Apprentice Technicians.
• Assist with inventory management, parts ordering, and vendor relations.
