Blue Bear Waste Services in Phoenix, AZ is seeking an experienced Senior Diesel Technician/Mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet of trucks and equipment. The role requires strong diagnostic skills across mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems, with the ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

You will track preventive maintenance, maintain records, and collaborate with fellow technicians to ensure safe, efficient operations in a shop and outdoor environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of diesel mechanic experience in the waste/industrial sector preferred.
• Strong diagnostic skills across mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled mechanical work on heavy-duty truck equipment with minimal supervision.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems to identify causes and repairs.
• Track and complete scheduled preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Maintain maintenance records in Fleetio and related systems.
• Conduct routine inspections including DOT; ensure safety standards.
• Coordinate with other mechanics to ensure efficient workflow.
• Provide guidance to Apprentice Technicians and train others as needed.
• Manage parts inventory and vendor relationships; recommend new vendors.
