Job summary

Ryder is hiring a Senior Level Diesel Technician in Savannah, Georgia. The role includes performing vehicle maintenance and diagnostics on heavy- and medium-duty equipment, with a schedule Tue–Sat and first shift hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational or technical certification/degree preferred.
• Basic tools required.
• 2+ years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy- and medium-duty equipment.
• CDL Class A preferred; able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire.
• Valid CDL required by location or as noted.

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties including standard and preventive maintenance.
• Diagnose complex mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic equipment.
• Complete detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision.
• Mentor Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels and assist with workplace safety and compliance.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)

Vocational/technical certification (preferred)

Demonstrated mechanical repair aptitude

2+ years experience with heavy-/medium-duty equipment

Tools

Basic hand tools

Diagnostic tools (diagnostic computer)
