Job summary

Boss Shop is hiring a Shop Diesel Mechanic/Technician in Indiana. You will perform mechanical repairs, preventive maintenance, and diagnostics using industry-standard platforms.

The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and customer service, with opportunities for growth within a structured tech ranking system. The position requires valid certifications (Air Brake, DOT Medical Card, HVAC Section 609) and ASE certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• Air Brake Certification is required.
• DOT Medical Card is required.
• ASE certifications are preferred; Shop Technician IV must obtain or maintain indicated certifications within one year of promotion.
• Section 609 HVAC certification is required for HVAC service.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventive maintenance, tire services, and emergency road service calls.
• Conducts DOT inspections and ensures regulatory compliance.
• Performs service calls including night and on-call assignments as required.
• Uses diagnostic platforms (J-Pro, FleetCross, OE software) to diagnose and repair vehicle systems.
• Completes work orders with labor, parts, and warranty information.
• Performs engine, cooling, fuel, turbo, and related component repairs.
• Diagnoses and repairs emissions systems, drivetrain, wheel-end, air systems, HVAC, and electrical systems.
• Maintains shop cleanliness and ensures tools and vehicles are safe.
