Job summary

Qualdoc in Taneytown, MD is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair trucks, trailers, and other motorized equipment. The ideal candidate has a strong diesel mechanical background, hands-on repair experience, and the ability to diagnose issues across multiple systems.

This position requires someone who is dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work independently while coordinating with the Shop Foreman and other team members to keep equipment

Qualifications

• 5+ years of maintenance and repair experience with heavy equipment, trailers, cranes, and/or trucks.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities across hydraulic, electrical, small engine, and A/C systems.
• High school diploma or GED; trade school or equivalent diesel training; relevant certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair heavy equipment, trucks, trailers, and motorized machinery.
• Diagnose hydraulic, electrical, small engine, and air-conditioning system issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance to prevent breakdowns and reduce downtime.
• Complete work orders with mileage, hours, and detailed repair notes.
• Coordinate priorities with the Shop Foreman and other technicians.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
• Travel for assignments, training, and meetings when needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
