Martin Marietta is seeking a Senior Mechanic for the Asphalt and Paving Shop. This advanced journey-level role leads maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of a specialized fleet including pavers, rollers, and milling machines, ensuring peak uptime during critical paving windows.

You will mentor junior mechanics and welders, perform complex engine and hydraulic repairs, and troubleshoot electrical systems with advanced diagnostic tools. A safety-first mindset is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; trade school cert or Associate's in Diesel Tech preferred.
• 3+ years Heavy Equipment/Diesel Maintenance experience, with at least 2 years specifically focused on asphalt/paving equipment.
• CDL Class A preferred; must supply own working set of mechanic tools.

Responsibilities

• Use advanced diagnostic software to identify engine, transmission, and hydraulic malfunctions.
• Diagnose/repair high-pressure hydraulic systems on asphalt pavers and screed systems.
• Troubleshoot and rewire complex electrical systems including sensors and engine controls.
• Perform teardowns and rebuilds of diesel engines, transmissions, and final drive units.
• Maintain a diverse fleet including CAT/Volvo pavers, rollers, asphalt distributors, skid steers, and milling machines.
• Lead training and provide guidance to Maintenance Mechanics and Welders.
• Utilize CMMS to document work orders, track parts usage, and manage equipment history.
