Job summary

Martin Marietta is seeking a Field Mechanic to perform high-level maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of asphalt plant equipment, crushers, and heavy mobile machinery in field settings. The role travels to operating sites and supports uptime with a safety-first approach, working independently in varied outdoor conditions.

Responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing diesel equipment, wiring and hydraulic systems, and performing preventive maintenance in accordance with manufacturer specs

Qualifications

• Mechanical analysis, design tools and controls knowledge for field repairs.
• Ability to read mechanical diagrams and blueprints to guide troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with heavy equipment, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, and electrical schematics.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair asphalt plant components and conveyors.
• Perform mechanical repairs on diesel mobile equipment including engine/transmission work.
• Use cutting torches and welders for field fabrication and modifications.
• Execute scheduled PMs and lubrication per specs and maintenance module.
• Conduct oil sampling, filter changes, and pressure testing to preempt failures.
• Maintain accurate work documentation of parts, status, and health.
• Troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems to resolve issues.
• Use CAT ET and scanners to analyze engine performance and faults.
• Interpret manuals and schematics to perform precise repairs.
• Participate in SLAM and pre-shift safety inspections, adhering to LOTO rules.
