Martin Marietta seeks a Senior Mechanic for the Asphalt and Paving Shop in Colorado Springs. This advanced role maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs a specialized fleet of asphalt paving equipment and heavy-duty diesel trucks.

You will mentor junior mechanics and lead the crew to minimize downtime during critical paving windows. You will handle complex repairs in shop and field settings, follow safety standards, and work overtime when needed to support project deadlines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or relevant experience; Trade School certification or Associate's Degree in Diesel Technology preferred.
• 3+ years of Heavy Equipment/Diesel Maintenance experience, with at least 2 years focused on asphalt/paving equipment.
• Knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulic, electrical, and diesel engines; OSHA compliance and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems using advanced diagnostic tools.
• Troubleshoot high-pressure hydraulics, pumps, valves, and motors on asphalt paving equipment.
• Perform teardowns and rebuilds of diesel engines and components.
• Lead training and guidance for junior mechanics and welders.
• Document work orders and parts usage in CMMS; manage inventory of high-fail parts.
