Job summary

Xylem is seeking a Diesel Field Service Technician in Kent, WA. This onsite, full-time role involves troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing pumping equipment at service centers or customer sites, with after-hours on-call as needed.

You will perform inspections, diagnose diesel and electrical issues, rebuild engines, test performance, and participate in safety practices. Starting pay ranges from $34 to $40 per hour, with comprehensive benefits and CDL training opportunities.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of diesel experience and/or training or combination that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
• Ability to obtain DOT Medical card.
• Commercial Driver License B - Preferred.
• Diagnosing basic mechanical problems.
• Understanding of methods, materials, tools and techniques used in repair and maintenance.
• Basic understanding of pump station electrical controls and monitoring devices.
• General DC electrical testing.
• Ability to diagnose complex mechanical and electrical issues – preferred.
• Ability to work independently with little supervision and communicate effectively with customers and managers.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance and servicing on Godwin fleet equipment between each rental.
• Troubleshoot diesel engine, electrical systems and pump problems.
• Rebuild diesel engines and pump ends.
• Assist in setting up pumping systems at customer job sites and start-up duties.
• Inspect equipment for damages, diagnose issues and report to Service Manager.
• Test repaired equipment for proper operation and quality.
• Perform preventative maintenance on company vehicles and shop equipment.
• Conduct diagnostic checks using computer technology.
• Participate in weekly on-call rotation after hours.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
