Job summary

Xylem is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician to travel to customer locations in Salt Lake City and surrounding areas. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel-powered pump equipment and related mechanical systems, while performing preventive maintenance to maximize reliability.

The role requires strong diesel/industrial equipment experience, the ability to work independently in the field, and excellent customer service and communication skills.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of diesel technician, heavy equipment, industrial equipment, or automotive technician experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with proven diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities.
• Experience on diesel engines, hydraulic systems, pumps, or industrial equipment is highly preferred.
• Automotive technicians with strong diagnostic experience are encouraged to apply.
• Ability to work independently in the field without direct supervision.
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read service manuals, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Basic computer or tablet skills for completing service documentation.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites using a company-provided service vehicle.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain diesel-powered pump equipment and related mechanical systems.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) services to maximize equipment reliability.
• Respond promptly to emergency service calls and minimize equipment downtime.
• Inspect equipment and identify potential issues before failures occur.
• Complete service reports, work orders, and required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
