Job summary

United Rentals, the world's largest equipment rental provider, is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic – Service Tech IV. This role performs maintenance and repairs on complex equipment with limited supervision, delivering safe, professional service and opportunities for leadership within the Service Department.

You will travel to customer sites as needed, train lower level technicians, and maintain thorough work orders while upholding exceptional customer service and teamwork.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools.
• Extensive knowledge of construction equipment with diagrams and schematics.
• Must own tools applicable to position.
• Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools.
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a variety of rental and customer equipment and tools.
• Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance of rental or customer owned equipment; must maintain service vehicle in a clean and professional manner.
• Assist in the training of lower level technicians as needed.
• Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) in a complete and timely manner on a daily basis.
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts.
• Other duties assigned as needed.
