Job summary

United Rentals is seeking a Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech III) to perform maintenance and repairs on complex rental equipment in a safe and professional manner. You’ll contribute to customer service excellence and have opportunities to advance within the Service Department while supporting the world’s largest equipment rental provider.

You’ll work in a role that emphasizes hands-on mechanical work, training of peers, and collaboration with the service team, with potential for leadership growth

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Must own tools applicable to position.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record preferred.
• 3–5 years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools.
• Strong mechanical background and aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Safe maintenance and repair of complex rental equipment (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, diesel).
• Assist in training lower level technicians as needed.
• Maintain paperwork/work orders daily.
• Travel to customer sites for repair/maintenance; keep service vehicle clean and professional.
• Assist with pickup/delivery of equipment & parts.
• Other duties as needed.
