Qualifikationen

• High school graduate with five years of experience on buses or heavy trucks.
• Michigan Master Heavy Duty Truck Mechanic certification or thorough knowledge.
• Willing to pursue seminars/workshops and certification in MI; may require a test.
• Valid Michigan CDL-Type C with P endorsement.
• Willing to work any shift and maintain district vehicles.
• Thorough knowledge of gasoline/diesel engines, electrical systems, brakes, and fuel systems.
• Experience with engine tune-ups, steering systems, and repair of heavy vehicles.
• Physically able to perform the assigned duties.

Aufgaben

• Maintain and repair all Transportation Department vehicles and grounds equipment (buses, trucks, cars, tractors, etc.).
• Perform diesel engine work and related components (valve train, pumps, alternators, etc.).
• Conduct routine safety checks as buses are maintained and serviced.
• Cooperate with Head Mechanic to keep maintenance records for each vehicle.
• Keep a clean, well-organized garage and assist in other repairs as needed.
• Report unsafe or hazardous conditions promptly.
