Qualifications

• 5+ years of underwriting individual disability insurance.
• Approval authority of $15K+ in IDI underwriting.
• Exams towards industry designations (DIA/DIF, AALU/FALU, FMLI, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Underwrite complex DI cases end-to-end with sound judgment.
• Serve as product and underwriting SME through field training and partner education.
• Deliver competitive underwriting decisions that balance profitability and placement.
• Provide exceptional service and consultation to agents, brokers, field office staff, and business partners on underwriting and risk matters.
• Communicate underwriting decisions clearly to support customer understanding and business outcomes.
• Mentor and coach less experienced underwriters and guide on complex issues.
• Influence process improvements and support operational excellence.
