Job summary

UGE is seeking a senior M&A professional at Associate Director or Director level to lead acquisition of DG solar and storage assets. You will originate opportunities, underwrite deals, model portfolios, and drive transactions from contact through close with developers, brokers, IPPs, and capital partners.

The role requires 20–30% travel and a hybrid setup for NYC or Denver, with strong policy fluency and an ability to translate market insight into investment theses and execution plans.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant experience in distributed generation solar and/or energy storage (M&A, corporate development, project finance, investing).
• Deep DG solar and storage expertise: markets, policy, and investment thesis.
• Investment thesis understanding and ability to present to committees.
• Strong origination, underwriting, and portfolio modeling capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Originate acquisition opportunities and grow a proprietary pipeline.
• Lead financial underwriting of targets and build project/portfolio models.
• Drive deals end-to-end from LOI to close with internal and external teams.
• Negotiate acquisition agreements and develop strategic investment theses.
