Job summary

AMD in Austin, TX seeks an experienced SoC DFX Engineer to define, design, and verify robust Design for Test (DFT) and Design for Debug (DFD) solutions for high‑performance SoCs. You will collaborate with architecture, RTL, firmware, and verification teams to enable efficient silicon validation, bring‑up, and debug across the product lifecycle.

You will influence DFX strategy and tackle complex challenges with hands‑on technical depth, system‑level problem solving, and cross‑functional

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with architects, hardware and firmware engineers to understand and verify new DFX features to be designed.
  • Design and integrate DFX logic in complex SoCs.
  • Build test plan documentation, accounting for interactions with hardware, firmware and software driver use cases.
  • Estimate the time required to write new feature tests and any required changes to the test environment.
  • Build directed and random verification tests.
  • Debug test failures to determine root cause; work with RTL and firmware engineers to resolve defects.
  • Review functional and code coverage metrics and adjust tests to meet coverage requirements.
