Job summary

AMD in Austin, Texas is seeking a lead engineer to develop and implement design-for-test methodology for AMD Instinct Accelerator solutions. The role includes test planning, pattern conversion, characterization, and data analysis, coordinating with PCB designers, tester vendors, fixture houses and CM partners.

You will drive DFT flows from EVT builds through mass production, review early designs for DFT, and mentor junior engineers while working in a global cross-functional environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering (MS preferred).
• Experience with DFT and test methodology development for complex hardware.
• Strong scripting and programming skills, including Python or similar.
• Familiarity with IEEE standards 1500/1149.1/1687/1838.

Responsibilities

• Drive structural test coverage simulation and analysis from AOI, AXI, to ICT.
• Optimize the structural test plan to identify SMT/PCB/component issues early.
• Develop test strategy for new product features and relevant fixtures and test equipment.
• Review and provide feedback for DFT in early design stages.
• Debug hardware and software during build phases; mentor junior engineers.
