Job summary

Textron Aviation seeks an Engineer DFM Sr to coordinate dimensional management and develop build methodologies for complex aircraft systems. You will collaborate with design, manufacturing engineering, tooling and M&P to balance cost and variation.

Responsibilities include GD&T support, design of new components, and leading design/build meetings to optimize manufacturing processes and tooling index plans.

Qualifications

• Understanding of aircraft and aircraft systems.
• Excel and PowerPoint proficiency and Visual Studio programming a plus.
• Experience in manufacturing processes, metrology, and GD&T a plus.
• Catia V5/V6 and 3DCS experience a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills – able to clearly communicate technical details to others.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with design teams to provide dimensional management plans through the design and build process.
• Develop build methodologies for complex systems and components.
• Lead design/build meetings to identify optimal manufacturing methods and tooling index plans.
• Perform variation analysis using statistical methods to determine manufacturing build plans.
• Provide GD&T support and analysis.
• Design and develop new aircraft components using CAD software.
• Troubleshoot and analyze issues during experimental and production builds.
• Analyze inspection data to identify improvements or troubleshoot issues.
