Job summary

Textron Aviation is seeking a Sr. Engineer in DFM to coordinate with design teams, develop manufacturing methods, and perform advanced analyses to ensure aircraft components meet stringent specifications and regulatory standards.

You will lead cross-functional design/build activities, apply GD&T, and advance manufacturing processes across complex systems to improve fabrication and assembly efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related engineering field is required.
• Minimum 5 years of manufacturing design or related engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with design teams to provide dimensional management plans throughout the build process.
• Develop build methodologies for complex systems and components.
• Conduct design studies including aerodynamic, structural, and systems analysis to meet project specs and safety standards.
• Lead design/build meetings to optimize manufacturing methods and tooling plans.
• Use stress and fatigue software for loads analysis related to structural integrity.
• Perform variation analysis using statistics for manufacturing build plans.
• Provide GD&T support and analysis.
• Develop new manufacturing processes to improve fabrication and assembly.
• Design and develop components using CAD software.
• Troubleshoot root causes and resolve design/tooling/manufacturing issues during builds.
• Analyze inspection data to locate improvement opportunities or troubleshoot issues.
• Reverse engineer parts without electronic design information.
