Job summary

Peraton seeks a Senior DevSecOps / Platform Engineer to own the Agentic AI platform end-to-end across delivery, infrastructure, runtime operations, and platform health. You will design and operate secure, observable, scalable delivery pipelines and cloud infrastructure for production-ready systems.

The role emphasizes hands-on execution with a builder mindset, managing EKS clusters, AWS services, monitoring stacks, and IaC with Terraform/OpenTofu.

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in a technical field with extensive platform engineering experience.
• Proven CI/CD experience with GitHub Actions and/or GitLab CI.
• Hands-on AWS and Kubernetes (EKS) experience at scale.
• Experience building/operating monitoring with CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana.
• IaC practice using Terraform/OpenTofu; familiarity with Helm.
• Strong security, compliance, and auditability in delivery pipelines.
• Experience with trunk-based development and MR-driven release practices.
• Ability to operate in government/regulated contexts is a plus.
• US citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Own and operate the Agentic AI platform end-to-end across CI/CD, cloud infra, Kubernetes, observability, and runtime reliability.
• Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines across GitHub Actions and GitLab CI for secure delivery workflows.
• Implement automated testing and quality gates within the software delivery lifecycle.
• Lead operational ownership of Amazon EKS / Kubernetes environments, including RBAC and Helm deployments.
• Build AWS infrastructure supporting platform needs across VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, CloudTrail, and KMS.
• Manage infrastructure-as-code with OpenTofu / Terraform.
• Develop and operate monitoring/alerting stacks using CloudWatch, Prometheus, and Grafana.
• Create health checks, SLO-based alarms, and synthetic/transactional monitoring.
• Advance security in CI/CD with secrets management and audit evidence.
• Promote trunk-based development and MR-driven release quality controls.
