Job summary

Maximus is seeking an IT Senior Architect - DevSecOps to lead enterprise DevSecOps, CI/CD strategy, and secure software delivery across the Maximus Enterprise Technology. This senior IC role provides architecture direction for Jenkins Shared Libraries (Groovy), Terraform, and Crossplane, supporting government programs under FedRAMP, HIPAA, SOC 2, and PCI.

This remote position requires deep ownership, cross-functional influence with VP/Sr Director peers, and hands-on guidance to 300+ DevSecOps

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years IT experience; 5+ years in senior DevSecOps or platform engineering.
• U.S. citizen; eligible for Public Trust or Secret clearance; active clearance preferred.
• Deep CI/CD expertise: GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Jenkins; Groovy libraries.
• Experience managing enterprise artifact repositories (Artifactory/Nexus).
• Proficiency with Crossplane and Kubernetes-based platform engineering.
• IaC experience: Terraform, AWS CloudFormation; cloud-native architecture.
• Security in regulated environments: FedRAMP, HIPAA, SOC 2, PCI, NIST 800-53/SSDF.
• Leadership across AWS, Azure, GCP multi-account architectures.
• Jira/Agile tooling for backlog and DevSecOps workflows.

Responsibilities

• Define reference architectures, pipeline standards, and security guardrails across deployment targets.
• Establish and maintain canonical CI/CD pipeline models from source to cloud deployment.
• Provide architecture decisions for multi-environment deployments (dev, staging, prod).
• Embed automated security controls and vulnerability management into pipelines.
• Ensure compliance with NIST SSDF, FedRAMP, HIPAA, SOC 2, PCI.
• Collaborate with ISO on security reviews and risk decisions.
• Lead enterprise governance bodies and produce architecture docs.
• Mentor and upskill T3/T4 architects and engineers.
• Drive platform adoption and knowledge sharing across teams.
• Represent Tools Engineering in OCDIO forums and customer briefings.
