Job summary

BlackSky seeks a talented DevSecOps architect to shape cybersecurity for software systems and ground deployments. You will lead security architecture efforts, align with the CTO, and drive compliant, secure infrastructure across cloud and on‑prem environments.

Reporting to the VP of Product Architecture, you’ll collaborate across teams, evolve security controls in IaC, and advance BlackSky’s position as a leader in secure real‑time geospatial intelligence. This is a hands‑on, multi‑team role.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 years of related work experience with 5+ years in DevSecOps or security architecture leadership.
• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field.
• Experience architecting complex software systems for cybersecurity compliance.
• Familiarity with NIST standards, FedRAMP, and ISO/IEC 27001:2022.

Responsibilities

• Drive alignment between Security and CTO to achieve security compliance for deployments.
• Create robust security blueprints for cloud/on-premises deployments.
• Develop cybersecurity roadmaps and implement security frameworks.
• Collaborate with DevOps to embed security controls into IaC workflows.
• Ensure security documentation is accurate and complete.
