Job summary

BlackSky is seeking a Principal DevSecOps Architect to help shape security across software and satellite ground systems and to drive cybersecurity alignment with the CTO office. This hands-on leadership role requires deep experience in DevSecOps, cloud and on‑prem deployments, and knowledge of NIST standards, FedRAMP, and ISO 27001.

You will collaborate with engineering, security, and product teams and mentor others.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 years in related work, with 5+ years leading DevSecOps or infrastructure security architecture.
• Engineering degree required; strong cybersecurity knowledge.
• Experience architecting software deployments for cybersecurity compliance.

Responsibilities

• Align security with CTO and engineering teams to achieve compliant deployments.
• Develop blueprints for software, network, and infrastructure security in cloud and on‑prem.
• Create a cybersecurity roadmap and implement security frameworks.
• Assess vulnerabilities and risks via security reviews.
• Collaborate with DevOps to integrate security into IaC (Terraform/Helm).
• Document security architectures and ensure stakeholder understanding.
• Lead cross‑functional teams and manage project risks and timelines.
