Job summary

BlackSky, a real-time intelligence company, seeks a Senior Security Analyst to monitor, defend, and secure our enterprise environment. You will analyze logs in a SIEM, perform DFIR, threat hunting, and build detections to shorten detection and response times.

Role can be based in Seattle, WA or Herndon, VA, or remotely within the United States. A strong Linux security background and multiple security certifications are highly valued, along with a U.S. citizenship requirement.

Qualifications

• Seven (7) years’ experience performing security analyst and DFIR activities.
• Seven (7) years’ experience in IT security.
• Hold at least one of the listed security certifications (CISSP, CHFI, GCFA/GCFE, GCIS, GCDA, GREM, GNFA, GCS A, GCPN, GPCS, GSOC, ACE/EnCE, AWS Security) or equivalent.
• Ability to document processes, procedures, and results of technical analysis for peer review.
• Experience with implementing/sustaining endpoint security mechanisms (EDR, CASB, etc.) on Windows, MacOS, or Linux.
• Experience in Incident Response, Digital Forensics, Malware Analysis, Network Traffic Collection, or reverse engineering.
• U.S. citizen.

Responsibilities

• Perform security monitoring and DFIR activities across corporate, product, and mission environments.
• Review threat intelligence sources and apply insights to secure the enterprise.
• Conduct regular threat hunting across environments.
• Document procedures to formalize ad-hoc processes.
• Analyze data from logs, network traffic, and SaaS security tools for security insights.
• Perform malware analysis using standard sandbox tools.
• Support vulnerability management and remediation activities with IT/Product teams.
• Collaborate with product owners to scope offensive testing and remediation.
• Monitor compliance with CIS Benchmarks, DISA STIGs, and hardened baselines.
• Develop automation to improve detection and response timelines.
• Complete compliance assessments and report findings to management.
