Job summary

Blackstone Talent Group seeks a DevSecOps Engineer to design, secure and operate scalable infra for MDA-related missions. You will build and automate CI/CD pipelines, implement IaC, and embed security across the lifecycle in cloud, hybrid and on‑prem environments.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with cybersecurity and program leadership, and help maintain high availability and compliant systems for defense applications.

Qualifications

• 6+ years general full-time work experience.
• 4+ years in systems engineering, cloud infra, SRE, DevOps or DevSecOps.
• 6+ months in management/leadership.
• Experience designing/operating production infra in AWS/Azure/GCP or hybrid.
• IaC and configuration-management proficiency.
• CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps.
• Linux admin, networking, scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell, Go).
• Container orchestration with Kubernetes/OpenShift.
• Security engineering principles: IAM, secrets, encryption, logging.
• Monitoring/observability tools: Prometheus, Grafana, Elastic Stack, Splunk, Datadog, CloudWatch.
• Troubleshooting distributed systems, infra, network, security issues.
• DoW 8570 IAT Level II certification and active DoW Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy and maintain scalable, secure infra across cloud/hybrid/on‑prem.
• Develop and manage IaC using Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, Pulumi.
• Build CI/CD pipelines with automated security controls and approvals.
• Integrate security into the SDLC: code scanning, secret detection, vulnerability remediation.
• Operate containers with Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift.
• Establish observability with logging, metrics, dashboards and SLOs.
• Implement IAM, secret management, encryption, least-privilege controls.
• Support availability, incident response, disaster recovery and DR testing.
• Automate routine ops to reduce drift and MTTR.
• Define standards, runbooks, and operational documentation.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote secure coding practices.
• Coordinate with engineering, security, compliance and program teams.
