Job summary

UC San Diego is seeking a Systems Integration Engineer within Academic Technology Services (ATS) to deliver enterprise integrations and web applications for a large academic community. You will work across Python, Java, .NET, and JavaScript stacks, using Airflow, Kafka, NiFi, and Grouper to manage student entitlements.

You will collaborate with a team of students and staff, apply CI/CD practices with GitHub Actions, Bamboo, and Jenkins, and deploy on AWS with containerized architectures using

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• Strong software design skills and experience building web apps and integrations in Python, Java, C#/ASP.NET, and JavaScript.
• Experience with modern CI/CD and containerized deployments in a DevOps environment.
• Familiarity with Grouper for student entitlement provisioning.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and related container tooling.

Responsibilities

• Design, write, test, deploy, and maintain multiple academic technology services and student entitlement provisioning.
• Automate development processes using CI/CD tools and pipelines.
• Develop middleware to integrate webapps with campus and cloud enterprise systems via APIs and LTIs.
• Leverage AI/ML tools to improve academic processes.
• Instruct junior staff and student employees on DevOps concepts.
