Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Principal Software DevOps Developer to join a high‑performing team modernizing the FAA’s TFDM platform. You will architect, design, and implement cloud‑native solutions with GitLab/ArgoCD, OpenShift/Kubernetes, Docker, and AI‑assisted development tools to improve throughput and reliability.

You’ll travel up to 25% to deploy TFDM at airports nationwide and work in Gaithersburg, MD 3 days a week with 2 days from home. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related technical discipline.
• 12+ years of full lifecycle development experience.
• 7+ years GitOps/DevOps/DevSecOps experience.
• 7+ years of software development in Java, C++, or Python.
• Experience with AI‑assisted development tools.
• Experience in Agile environments.
• Eligibility for Public Trust (US Citizenship or Permanent Residency).
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, develop, and implement next‑generation applications using modern engineering practices.
• Provide hands‑on experience developing customer integration for enterprise CI/CD architecture.
• Provide architectural oversight to support software development, test automation, security testing, and deployments.
• Mentor in areas like SOA, security, CI/CD, containerization, UX, and data reporting.
• Investigate and repair defects across CI/CD, frontend, and backend components.
• Brief executive leadership on significant matters with appropriate technical detail.
• All other duties as assigned.
