Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Lead DevSecOps Engineer to join the Air Traffic Business Area, supporting the L-CAP platform. Hybrid work with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote, located within commutable distance to Gaithersburg, MD; Egg Harbor Township, NJ; or Eagan, MN, or 100% remote for non-local candidates.

You will build and secure CI/CD pipelines, manage Kubernetes clusters, implement IaC with Terraform, and drive performance and reliability across development, test, and production environments,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline with 4+ years experience (or Master’s with 2+ years) (or equivalent).
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions).
• Hands-on Kubernetes cluster management and container orchestration.
• Proficiency with Terraform or equivalent IaC tools.
• Strong experience with Docker and containerization technologies.
• Solid Linux systems administration skills.
• Scripting in Bash and Python for automation.
• Experience with security scanning tools and DevSecOps practices.
• Understanding of networking, load balancing, and service mesh concepts.
• Familiarity with Agile/SAFe delivery and DevOps culture.
• Experience with software supply chain security tools (Sigstore, SLSA, SBOM).
• Knowledge of artifact management systems and build provenance tracking.
• Experience supporting internal developer platforms and developer experience initiatives.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust; U.S. citizenship required; successful background investigations.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous integration, testing, and delivery of L-CAP.
• Manage Kubernetes clusters and container orchestration for platform service deployments.
• Develop and maintain IaC using Terraform for repeatable environments.
• Integrate SAST/DAST/SCA security scanning into pipelines for shift-left security.
• Manage container images, registries, and deployment artifacts across environments.
• Automate provisioning, scaling, and configuration management tasks.
• Maintain development, test, and production environments for reliability.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting for platform observability.
• Collaborate with development teams to improve build times and release frequency.
• Support incident response and troubleshooting of infrastructure and deployment issues.
• Enforce software supply chain security controls including SBOM generation and artifact signing.
• Maintain artifact repositories and build provenance for integrity of delivers.
• Support developer platform capabilities and improve developer experience.
• Adopt AI-assisted development tools and modern engineering practices.
