Job summary

Localize is seeking a Senior Devops / Platform Engineer to join our product engineering team. You will own and improve Localize’s infrastructure, databases, and platform tooling, including monitoring, alerting, and maintenance.

You will help strengthen the SDLC, ensuring scalability, reliability, performance, and security across the Localize platform. You will partner with leadership and engineers to translate business priorities into execution, balancing feature delivery with reliability and

Qualifications

5+ years engineering experience, with at least 4 years in a DevOps role.
Expertise in managing and optimizing infrastructure in AWS.
Redis and MongoDB, including configuration, monitoring, optimization, and backups.
Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools OpenTofu and Terragrunt
Experience with manual or automated deployment & release management.
Understanding of CI/CD processes and tools.
Hands-on experience securing production infrastructure and vulnerability remediation.
Ability to translate security and compliance requirements into repeatable engineering practices.
Experience partnering with product engineers to improve the SDLC.
A customer-obsessed, business-aligned approach and ability to explain tradeoffs.

Responsibilities

Oversee and manage Localize's infrastructure across AWS and Cloudflare.
Ensure scalability, reliability, performance, and security of data stores (Redis, MongoDB).
Own and improve deployment and release processes with automation and rollback.
Partner with product engineers to improve the full SDLC including CI/CD and testing.
Lead infrastructure security and SOC 2 Type II compliance, manage access and audits.
Lead incident response and blameless post-incident reviews.
Prioritize improvements based on customer impact, risk, and cost-efficiency.
Monitor uptime and performance with Datadog, Clickhouse, HyperDX, etc.
Identify and implement cost, reliability, and scalability optimizations.
Develop documentation and maps of infrastructure and dependencies.
Enhance Developer Experience and learn new technologies.
