Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to drive faster, reliable software delivery by strengthening automation, observability, and DevOps practices in a classified environment.

You will bridge development and operations, ensure secure deployments, and scale enterprise systems across multiple environments. The role requires TS/SCI with polygraph, 6+ years of related experience, and a strong background in Linux, CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes/OpenShift, and

Qualifications

TS/SCI Clearance with Polygraph is required or able to be sponsored.
Minimum 6+ years of directly related DevOps experience in complex environments.
Bachelor's Degree in computer science, computer engineering, systems engineering or related field or 2 additional years of IT experience.
Proficiency with Linux operating systems.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, Jenkins, CircleCI, or similar).
Knowledge of OIDC/OAuth/Auth2 or similar zero-trust identity implementations.
Experience with ArgoCD and GitOps operations.
Experience with web server management (DNS, certificate management).
Knowledge of HTTP API design standards and best practices.
Ability to manage networking for web applications (TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing).
Familiarity with Kubernetes and OpenShift, with knowledge of AWS.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, etc.).
Knowledge of monitoring, logging, and security for containers.
Experience deploying databases and interacting with DBs via SQL/ORMs.
Comfortable writing Python and Bash for tooling.

Responsibilities

Configure CI/CD for multiple web applications.
Deploy to Dev, Staging, and Operations environments.
Manage Infrastructure as Code and configuration management.
Author Helm charts for OpenShift deployments.
Ensure system security through updates and documentation.
Develop enterprise-wide cloud solutions and scalable architectures.
Provide input to technical documentation and support materials.
Collaborate across teams to improve observability, monitoring, and incident response.
