Job summary

Northrop Grumman’s Space Systems Sector is seeking a Principal or Senior Principal DevOps Engineer to design, implement, and maintain automation infrastructure for secure, high-stakes projects across Aurora, CO; Morrisville, NC; or Sacramento, CA. You will drive CI/CD pipelines, improve SCM and testing, and collaborate with development teams in a fast-paced, mission-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Active U.S. Government Top Secret clearance, within scope, able to obtain SCI access.
• Active CI Polygraph, current and within scope.
• U.S. citizenship is mandatory.
• Principal: Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years’ experience; 3 years with Master’s; 0 with PhD.
• Senior Principal: Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years’ experience; 6 with Master’s; 4 with PhD.
• Proficiency in AWS, Kubernetes, and Terraform is essential.
• Experience with Linux or related OS administration.
• Familiarity with Agile software development frameworks.
• Security+ certification preferred; ability to obtain within six months of hire.
• Experience with at least three of the preferred qualifications is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, and evolve processes and infrastructure to support rapid program capability maturation and deployment.
• Integrate development pipelines utilizing automation tools, test-driven development, and CI/CD frameworks.
• Define and implement standards for build, deployment, provisioning, and system monitoring.
• Maintain and enhance SCM, code quality, and code coverage through automated testing within CI/CD.
• Collaborate as part of an Agile team to automate deployment, monitoring, and infrastructure management processes.
• Build and configure delivery environments supporting CI/CD tools, applying Agile delivery methodologies.
• Create scripts and templates to automate infrastructure provisioning and management tasks.
• Work closely with development teams to establish and maintain automated CI/CD systems that support project needs.
• Coordinate with vendors and IT staff to troubleshoot and resolve system issues promptly.
• Monitor and support all installed systems and infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Develop custom scripts to enhance system efficiency and reduce manual workload.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of operational support systems and information management solutions.
• Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
• Oversee security protocols, backup strategies, and redundancy measures to safeguard data and system integrity.
• Evaluate application performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions in collaboration with developers.
