Job summary

Appian seeks a Sr. DevOps Engineer to lead enterprise cloud scaling for federal customers. This on‑site role in McLean, VA requires a Top Secret clearance and deep expertise in Linux/Windows, automation, and secure cloud architectures.

You will partner with agencies to install, operate, and optimize Appian deployments, using AWS, GCE, and Azure while driving automated security and robust reliability across hybrid environments.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizen with an active Top Secret clearance.
• BS/BA in CS, Engineering, IT, Math, or related field.
• 3–5 years as an IT systems administrator building, patching, and managing enterprise hosts and cloud networks.
• Active CompTIA Security+ certification or willingness to complete after onboarding.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise cloud scaling across federal environments.
• Architect Linux/Windows infra to deploy and scale solutions on AWS, GCE, or Azure.
• Automate patching, host maintenance, and configuration management using scripting.
• Administer and optimize relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server).
• Advise federal clients with strong written and verbal communication to align capabilities with missions.
• Guide agencies through complex hybrid installs spanning secure cloud and on‑premise environments.
