Senior DevOps Engineer: Scale, Automation & Cloud

Job summary

Gallup is seeking a senior DevOps leader in Omaha to design and optimize release pipelines, drive automation, and implement scalable cloud infrastructure. You will partner with developers, security, and operations to enforce best practices and deliver high-availability systems.

You will manage cross-region releases, mentor engineers, and advance DevOps maturity across teams, while maintaining a strong on-site presence at Gallup's Omaha office two to three days weekly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, MIS or related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least five years designing and managing CI/CD solutions, with at least one year of GitHub Actions experience.
• Five years with AWS cloud technologies (including ECS and Lambda), IaC tools (especially Terraform) and MySQL.
• Five years scripting with Bash, Python or PowerShell.
• Three years of containerization (Docker, ECS) experience.
• End-to-end testing experience.
• Security and compliance best practices knowledge.
• Experience leading DevOps initiatives and mentoring engineers.
• On-site Gallup Omaha two to three days per week.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with software engineering, infrastructure and security teams to streamline delivery and observability.
• Design, implement and maintain GitHub Actions-based CI/CD pipelines for diverse applications.
• Drive adoption of DevOps practices across platforms and environments.
• Manage releases across multiple AWS regions and environments.
• Solve complex infrastructure and deployment challenges with a focus on scalability and automation.
• Mentor infrastructure engineers and foster a DevOps culture across teams.
