Job summary

Gallup is offering a summer internship on its DevOps team in Omaha. You will work hands-on with cloud technologies, modernize infrastructure, and migrate workloads to the cloud. The role emphasizes building CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and using container tools like Docker and Terraform.

You’ll learn from experienced professionals, collaborate with cross-functional engineers, and may receive a full-time offer after graduation based on performance and business needs.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in an associate, bachelor’s or graduate degree program in computer science, MIS or a related field required
• Basic knowledge of and experience with AWS, GCP or Microsoft Azure required
• Basic knowledge of and experience with GitHub and GitHub Actions required
• Basic knowledge of Windows or Linux server administration, networking or infrastructure required
• Classroom or professional experience with IIS, Python, .NET/.NET Core, Terraform, Puppet, Jenkins, PowerShell, Docker, Amazon ECS, GitHub or GitHub Actions required
• Enrollment at a college within a 250-mile radius of Omaha, NE required
• Anticipated graduation Aug 2027–May 2028 preferred; 2029 grads considered
• Availability to work 40 hours/week for 12 weeks in summer 2027 required
• On-site in Omaha Mon-Thu with remote option on Fridays
• Eligibility to work in the United States; visa sponsorship not provided

Responsibilities

• Use latest cloud technologies to modernize infrastructure
• Migrate workloads to the cloud by coding, testing, implementing and supporting automation services
• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions that automate build/test/deploy
• Work with containers and infrastructure as code using Docker, ECS and Terraform
• Collaborate with DevOps, cloud, network and sysadmin teams
• Set up and support cloud environments with the end user in mind
