Job summary

Gallup in Omaha is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to design and optimize release pipelines, drive automation, and implement cloud infrastructure across AWS regions. You will collaborate with software, security, and operations teams to raise stability, scalability and delivery speed.

You will build GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines, manage releases across AWS, and apply Terraform, CloudFormation and observability tooling (Dynatrace) to strengthen reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, MIS or related field, or equivalent experience required.
• At least two years designing and managing CI/CD solutions, including at least one year with GitHub Actions.
• At least two years working with AWS cloud technologies (ECS, Lambda), IaC tools (Terraform) and MySQL.
• Minimum two years scripting with Bash, Python or PowerShell.
• At least one year experience with containerization (Docker, ECS).
• End-to-end testing experience required.
• Strong knowledge of security and compliance best practices.

In this high-impact role, you'll be responsible for designing and optimizing release pipelines, driving automation, and implementing cloud infrastructure that accelerates delivery and ensures high availability. What You'll Do

• Collaborate with software engineering, infrastructure and security teams to streamline delivery, reliability and observability


• Design, implement and maintain GitHub Actions-based CI/CD pipelines that support our diverse set of applications and services


• Drive adoption and continuous improvement of DevOps practices across platforms and environments, helping teams fully leverage our existing framework


• Manage releases across multiple AWS regions and environments, ensuring seamless delivery


• Solve complex infrastructure and deployment challenges with a strong focus on scalability, observability and automation


• Support teams working across multiple applications, stacks and languages, quickly understanding and adapting to full-stack architectures and deployment flows

What Makes You Stand Out

• DevOps foundation: You have hands‑on experience with DevOps practices and are eager to continue building your skills in automation, deployment and cloud infrastructure.


• Technical curiosity: You enjoy learning new technologies, solving problems and understanding how tools and systems work together to support reliable software delivery.


• Experience with modern tools: You have experience with or exposure to tools such as GitHub Actions (CI/CD), AWS ECS, Docker and/or Podman, Terraform, CloudFormation and observability tools like Dynatrace.


• Collaborative mindset: You work well with developers and technical teams, ask thoughtful questions and contribute to shared solutions.

What You Need

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, MIS or a related field, or equivalent experience, required


• At least two years of experience designing and managing CI/CD solutions, with at least one year of experience with GitHub Actions, required


• At least two years of experience working with AWS cloud technologies (including ECS and Lambda), IaC tools (especially Terraform) and MySQL required

• End-to-end testing experience required


• Deep knowledge of security and compliance industry best practices required


• Experience leading DevOps initiatives required


• Familiarity with SRE implementation and best practices required


• Working experience in an Agile environment required


• Exposure to large, complex software solutions preferred


• A commitment to working on-site at Gallup's Omaha office two to three days per week required
