Job summary

Jack Henry & Associates, Inc. is seeking a Level III Linux engineer with strong automation and cloud-friendly practices.

You will develop provisioning, configuration, deployment, patching, monitoring, and operational workflows while collaborating with application, security, and development teams. You will lead complex infrastructure initiatives, troubleshoot production issues, and help establish DevOps and Linux engineering standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years designing, developing, and supporting software applications.
• Experience with C# development, SQL DB administration, debugging, and source control.
• Experience automating Linux patching and OS lifecycle management.
• Experience Linux security hardening, vulnerability remediation, and compliance controls.
• Familiarity with artifact repositories and package-management solutions.
• Familiarity with REST APIs and infrastructure platform integration via APIs.
• Experience in an Agile or DevOps environment.

Responsibilities

• Actively participates in all phases of the SDLC, including research, prototyping, design, development, docs, and defect fixing.
• Contributes to design and implementation of system deployment automation and config management tools.
• Develops software in scripting languages using agile design-build-test methods.
• Configures and maintains Kubernetes-like platforms to deploy, manage, and scale containerized apps.
• Constructs, improves, and maintains automated deployment pipelines.
• Collaborates with development, operations, and security teams to drive continuous improvement.
• Adheres to standards, policies, and procedures related to software development, security, and compliance.
• Manages database service levels and performance.
• May perform other duties as assigned.
