Job summary

Ayla Networks is a full-stack IoT platform provider seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer for a 100% remote role. You will influence infrastructure across multiple regions and support millions of devices worldwide. Collaboration across countries and time zones is essential.

You will drive automation, reliability, and scalability on cloud platforms (AWS/GCP) with on-call responsibilities and occasional travel. Remote candidates in eligible time zones are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience supporting Docker-based microservices, PaaS environments and cloud technologies.
• 5+ years in networking for high-availability apps on AWS and GCP; experience with HTTP and MQTT ingestion.
• Proficient in Linux with 5+ years of admin tasks and scripting (Python, Bash).
• 5+ years deploying cloud apps on AWS and GCP; Azure is a plus.
• 3+ years managing high-availability Kafka clusters and understanding Kafka internals.
• 3+ years DBA experience with MySQL, Cassandra or NoSQL databases.
• 3+ years of log collection/monitoring with tools like Prometheus, Datadog, New Relic.
• 3+ years infrastructure automation with Terraform; Ansible is valuable.
• Proficiency with CI/CD tools and deployment workflows.
• Hands-on use of AI-assisted development tools (Claude, Cursor, Gemini, etc.).
• Strong DevOps architecture understanding and cross-team collaboration.

• Work in a collaborative engineering culture where teams solve challenging problems.
• Manage and improve highly scalable systems supporting millions of devices and users.
• Improve reliability, scalability, performance, and cost efficiency of cloud infra.
• Collaborate with engineering leaders across countries to develop scalable objectives.
• Plan and execute infra improvement initiatives, including budgeting and cost optimization.
• Identify opportunities for automation and process enhancements.
• Participate in a scheduled 24/7 on-call rotation.
