Job summary

D2 Consulting is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer in St. Louis to design, automate, and support modern DevOps and cloud solutions powering mission-critical intelligence systems. You will focus on automation, reliability, and scalability while collaborating with security teams to ensure compliance and readiness.

Responsibilities include CI/CD enhancements, on-prem and cloud infrastructure, and on-call support, with a strong emphasis on secure, scalable operations in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with container platforms (Kubernetes, Docker, OpenShift).
• Strong DevOps principles and software development lifecycle knowledge.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab or similar.
• Knowledge of microservices architectures and best practices.
• Proficiency in Python, Bash, and Shell scripting.
• Solid networking fundamentals (load balancers, firewalls).
• Experience deploying and supporting on-prem infrastructure.
• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Automate deployment, configuration, and maintenance of platform services.
• Architect, build, and support on-prem and cloud infrastructure.
• Maintain and enhance CI/CD pipelines for reliability and speed.
• Administer production, staging, and development environments.
• Monitor system health, performance, and resource utilization.
• Manage centralized logging and security event monitoring.
• Apply configuration management best practices (patching, hardening, docs).
• Enforce security and reliability best practices including access controls.
