Job summary

Enlighten is seeking a highly motivated DevOps Engineer to join our fast-paced development team in a hybrid environment, averaging 1–2 days on-site in Columbia, MD. You will implement infrastructure, automate deployments, and ensure monitoring, reliability, and scalability of services.

The ideal candidate has strong Kubernetes and AWS expertise, experience with Terraform/Ansible, and solid scripting in Python/Bash/Go. A DoD 8140/8570 compliant background or willingness to obtain is required.

Qualifications

• Active Secret U.S. Government Security Clearance required or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire
• 5+ years in DevOps Engineering or Software Development with a related Bachelor's degree; or 3 years with Masters; or 9 years with HS diploma
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes or other container orchestration platforms
• Strong knowledge of AWS services (EKS, EC2, EBS, S3, Lambda) and deployment/management
• Proficient in Terraform and Ansible for configuration management
• Experience with app, container, and OS deployment, scaling and management
• Proficient in Python, Bash, or Go
• Familiarity with Git, Flux; comfortable in terminal; strong Linux admin
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and Agile experience
• Must be DoD 8140 / 8570 compliant or willing to obtain
• Hybrid work in Columbia, MD 1-2 days/week

Responsibilities

• Support development and deployment of cloud infrastructure in AWS (EKS)
• Support on-premise and portable edge infrastructure deployment
• Automate deployment processes for reliability and scalability
• Manage and maintain Kubernetes containers and AWS infrastructure
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate applications
• Monitor and troubleshoot production systems
• Improve processes and tools for high availability and performance
• Stay current with new technologies to enhance infrastructure
• Other duties as assigned
