Job summary

Citi is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer (AVP) to design, build, and optimize global production systems. You will apply expertise in CI/CD, container orchestration, cloud infrastructure, and observability to deliver resilient software across a complex tech environment.

The role emphasizes security, collaboration with engineering teams, and leadership of junior staff. Hybrid work with in-office collaboration is offered in Belfast.

Qualifications

• 4 to 8 years of software engineering, DevOps, or related experience in complex environments.
• Hands-on with CI/CD tooling, Git workflows, and automated build/deploy pipelines.
• Kubernetes/OpenShift experience including Helm and cluster management.
• Linux administration and shell scripting for automation and configuration.
• Experience delivering software projects end-to-end from design to production.
• Autonomous work style in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement CI/CD pipelines across engineering teams.
• Build and manage containerized workloads on Kubernetes/OpenShift.
• Architect observability solutions with Splunk, Elastic/Kibana, Prometheus, and Grafana.
• Evaluate complex technical problems and develop engineering solutions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define operating standards and improvements.
• Develop and enforce security measures across the SDLC.
• Mentor junior/mid-level engineers with code reviews and guidance.
