Job summary

Piper Companies seeks a Senior DevOps Engineer to shape the architecture and technical direction of our FedRAMP High and IL5 platform services. You will drive automation, reliability, and scalable deployments across engineering teams.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years in platform engineering or SRE, strong programming in Python/Go/Ruby/Java, and deep Kubernetes/ArgoCD expertise. Remote work flexibility and a comprehensive benefits package are offered.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in Platform Engineering, SRE, DevOps, or related fields.
• Proficient OO programming in Python/Go/Ruby/Java or similar languages.
• Deep expertise with Kubernetes, ArgoCD, deployment orchestration, and cloud-native platforms.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, IaC, and platform automation initiatives.
• Strong knowledge of AWS, distributed systems, and production operations.
• Proven ability to influence architecture across multiple teams.
• Experience with FedRAMP High, DoD IL5, GovCloud or other regulated environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the technical strategy for Platform Services supporting FedRAMP High and IL5 environments.
• Own architectural decisions across centralized platform APIs, CI/CD components, deployment workflows, and onboarding automation.
• Lead modernization of release processes through automated, policy-driven delivery pipelines.
• Build golden path deployment frameworks for rapid, reliable app deployment onto the platform.
• Develop standards for deployment validation, operational readiness, audit compliance, change control, and rollback procedures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align capabilities and drive technical decisions.
• Lead architecture reviews focusing on security, observability, reliability, and operational ownership.
