Job summary

Red Cell Partners is seeking a hands-on Staff DevOps Engineer to design and implement the secure delivery foundation for Red Cell Federal. You will start with a largely blank slate, focusing on CI/CD, software promotion, infrastructure automation, and operations across unclassified, controlled, and classified environments.

You will become a critical connection point for deployments to restricted customer environments, diagnosing issues, coordinating fixes, and safely deploying corrected

Qualifications

• Proven experience in DevOps, platform engineering, infrastructure engineering, SRE, or release engineering.
• Experience building or redesigning CI/CD and deployment systems.
• Experience deploying software into restricted government, defense, or disconnected environments.
• Strong understanding of software delivery, artifact promotion, environment isolation, access controls, and troubleshooting.
• Proficient with GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Bitbucket Pipelines, Jenkins, or comparable tooling.
• Proficient with containers, Kubernetes, Helm, or related orchestration/packaging technologies.
• Experience with infrastructure as code and configuration automation.
• Ability to script and automate in Python, Bash, or Go.
• Strong communication across software engineering, security, compliance, and customer stakeholders.
• Builder mentality and ownership mindset to create systems from zero.

Responsibilities

• Design and build CI/CD and software promotion pipelines from the ground up.
• Establish secure processes for promoting software across unclassified, controlled, and classified environments.
• Support ATO-related technical activities for software agents and deployments.
• Build repeatable deployment, release, rollback, monitoring, and troubleshooting capabilities.
• Deploy and operate software in government and customer-controlled environments.
• Diagnose issues in environments with restricted access or logs.
• Collaborate with software and platform teams to deliver corrected artifacts.
• Define infrastructure-as-code, configuration management, secrets management, and artifact handling as standard practice.
• Establish operational and compliance practices appropriate for federal work.
• Evaluate tools and architectures for security, reliability, portability, and mission requirements.
• Document systems and processes to scale deployments across customers and environments.
• Serve as hands-on technical owner while federal engineering grows.
