Job summary

Utilidata, Inc. is seeking a DevOps Engineer to design, build, and operate its off-device platform that ingests, processes, and serves data from edge AI devices. The role will bridge edge deployments with cloud-based data processing to support analytics, operations, and ML workloads at scale.

This hands-on role leads infrastructure across on-prem and cloud, guiding deployment practices, mentoring engineers, and ensuring resilience and scale for company-wide impact in a remote US-based team.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in platform engineering, SRE, or distributed systems with senior/principal impact
• Experience operating infra across on-prem and cloud environments
• Strong proficiency with Kubernetes
• Strong proficiency with AWS services and architecture
• Hands-on Terraform for infrastructure automation
• Familiarity with monitoring/observability best practices
• Excellent problem-solving and leadership abilities, strong collaboration
• Willingness to travel up to 20% of time

Responsibilities

• Oversee deployment and management of containerized apps using Kubernetes
• Contribute to strategic planning for infrastructure evolution to support data-center partners
• Lead design/implementation/maintenance of scalable systems on AWS and/or on-premise
• Utilize Terraform for IaC to automate cloud provisioning
• Monitor performance and uptime, meet SLA/SLO targets
• Support SOC2 security compliance for data handling
• Mentor engineers and promote reliability and excellence
• Drive automation to reduce manual tasks and improve efficiency
• Collaborate to build/maintain CI/CD pipelines
• Troubleshoot production issues with root-cause analysis and corrective actions
• Participate in on-call rotations and incident response
• Assist in capacity planning, tuning, and technical decision-making
• Drive continuous improvement of processes and infrastructure
