Job summary

Mark43 seeks a DevOps Engineer to build, scale, and maintain the infrastructure powering our public safety platform. You will focus on reliability, automation, and observability while enabling engineering teams to deliver software efficiently.

Work with AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, Helm, ArgoCD, and Grafana to improve infra, streamline dev workflows, and drive platform excellence. Join a 24/7 on-call rotation to support production systems and shape long-term scalability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in a DevOps, Platform Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, or related infrastructure-focused role.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure cloud infrastructure.
• Experience designing, building, and maintaining automated CI/CD pipelines for application builds, testing, and deployments.
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code technologies, particularly Terraform.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
• Experience implementing and maintaining monitoring, logging, observability, and alerting solutions.
• Familiarity with GitOps practices and deployment automation tools such as ArgoCD.
• Experience with scripting or programming to automate infrastructure operations, improve developer workflows, and build internal tooling.
• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure reliability, scalability, security, and compliance best practices.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and proactively identify opportunities to improve system performance and reliability.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently, take ownership of technical projects, and partner effectively with engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize AWS cloud infrastructure for scalability, reliability, security, and high availability.
• Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform to automate provisioning and management.
• Develop, improve, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline builds, testing, and deployments.
• Drive GitOps practices and automation using Kubernetes, Helm, and ArgoCD.
• Improve platform observability by implementing and optimizing monitoring, logging, alerting, and troubleshooting capabilities.
• Build internal tools and automation to enhance developer productivity and reduce manual work.
• Partner with engineering teams to establish DevOps best practices and strengthen platform reliability.
• Identify and resolve infrastructure performance bottlenecks and potential points of failure.
• Participate in a shared 24/7 on-call rotation to support production infrastructure and critical incidents.
• Own and drive infrastructure projects contributing to long-term scalability and health of the Mark43 platform.
